No Game No Life

No Game No Life is an extremely unique and interesting anime. Unlike most animes, No Game No Life has interesting plot development and amazing characters who make the watcher grin with delight. Originally a light novel series published by Yu Kamiya, No Game No Life was developed as a manga and later an anime. It was one of the most anticipated animes in 2015 and received a lot of love from avid anime and non anime fans alike. A new season is coming out relatively soon, which makes me really excited.

For those interested, please read the description:

"Sora and Shiro are two hikikomori step-siblings who are known in the online gaming world as Blank, an undefeated group of gamers. One day, they are challenged to a game of chess by Tet, a god from another reality. The two are victorious and are offered to live in a world that centers around games. They accept, believing it to be a joke, and are summoned to a reality known as Disboard[Jp. 1]. There, a spell known as the Ten Pledges prevents the citizens of Disboard from inflicting harm on one another, forcing them to resolve their differences by gambling with games whose rules and rewards are magically enforced. In-game, rule enforcement only occurs when the method of cheating is acknowledged and outed by the opponent, allowing players to cheat through discreet methods. Sora and Shiro traverse to Elkia[Jp. 2], the nation inhabited by humans, and befriend the duchess Stephanie Dola. Learning about Elkia's decline, the two participate in a tournament to determine the next ruler; after winning the crown, they earn the right to challenge the Disboard's other species as humanity's representative.LN 1.4 Their next goal is to conquer all sixteen species in order to challenge Tet to a game; as of the sixth volume, five of the sixteen are under their control."

Shokugeki no Soma

Shokugeki no Soma is an amazing manga and anime that revolves over themes such as cooking, ecchi, and romance. Highly famed for its competitive nature, Shokugeki no Soma brings a whole new picture and perspective onto anime while continuing the idea of a mature or perverted theme. The anime will not disappointed. I am by no means an avid anime fan or otaku but I found this anime enjoyable and interesting to watch.

Haikyuu!!

Genre: Sports, Shounen, Comedy, Drama

Seasons/Episodes: There are currently 2 seasons with 25 episodes each.

Synopsis:
When he was a young boy, Hinata Shouyo was inspired to become a volleyball player despite his height of 5ft 4in. He was able to compose a team and compete in his first tournament. However, his dream of making it to the nationals was crushed by Kageyama Tobio, who was known as the "King of the Court." Hinata makes Kageyama his rival and promises to defeat him in the future. Hinata decides to join Karasuno High School but discovers that Kageyama is on the team too. The two will now need to work together to create the ultimate team to beat the rest.

Opinion:
This anime is one of my favorites. I was hooked on to this show from the first couple of episodes because of the different characters. They each have their own individual stories that make them relatable and loveable. In the matches they played, I couldn't help but root for both teams and wanting both of them to win. However, in competitions, there can only one can be the winner. It was an exciting show filled with character developments, comedic moments and memorable matches.

5 Centimeters Per Second

My favorite anime is 5 Centimeters per second. Although it's not very famous and driven, I like the scenic atmosphere in the anime and the graphics. For an anime and a movie in the 2000s, the graphics are stressed to the point when they are picture perfect—literally. It is especially nice because the genre is innocent romance with a hint of forlornness. Where many contemporary romances/ ecchi (mature/perverted) romances are generic and monotonous to the point when they're disgustingly irritating and arduous to watch, 5 Centimeters Per Second leaves a substantial yet ephemeral imprint on one's mind and leaves one wanting for more.
